Radio Fox Fundraising
Radio Fox provides a 24 hour 365 days a year service to entertain the patients of the Leicester Royal Infirmary and The Glenfield Hospital. This service receives no official funding from any source and is staffed 100% by volunteers. Our volunteers give their time, knowledge and talent for free. It takes 1000s of hours every year to keep our 24/7 service running for the patients.
In order for this service to run Radio Fox volunteers undertake continuous fundraising in the form of member subscriptions and external hire of our public address system for garden fetes and carnivals. These activities just about cover our annual expenses.
Radio Fox has been on air for 28 years and as you might expect some of our essential studio equipment is feeling its age. Therefore we are currently looking to raise at least £10,000 to replace our main audio desk. To achieve this amount we have been holding monthly book and media sales in the foyer of Glenfield Hospital and plan to host live music nights at The Elms Social Club in Wigston. We have also received generous donations from local businesses such as Caterpillar (UK), Pall-Ex, Asda, Next, Barratt Homes – North Midlands Division, Cambridge & Counties Bank, Taylor Bloxham, Squire Alarms Ltd, Ibstock Brick Ltd, Police Mutual, Leicestershire & Rutland Freemasons and Pukka Pies Ltd. Also supporting Radio Fox are Leicester Ska sensation Kingsize and Leicester Rock-n-Roll band Mama Don’t Allow
